The main raw material is flax and cotton or textile scraps. From this they make a mixture of 94% water and 4% fibre + a little bit of melted limestone for longer life.
They melt and mix it together automaticly or manually for four to five hours. The mixture is stored in reserve tubs.
Three important steps:
- EXPLOITATION
- SENSING
- WITHDRAWING
A worker butts the mixture into a wooden frame with a metal net and wigwags back and forward with it. And with this process the first stage of paper is created.
This paper is put into felt and then it goes into a hydraulic press.
When the paper is almost dry, they take it off the felt and put it in a drying place. It stays there for three to four days.
After drying, the sheets of paper are collected, sorted and shaken into perfect piles.
Then they do surfaced glueing for better writing on paper. And after that they put it back in the drying place for three to four days. And again the sheets of paper shaken into perfect piles.
The last step is flattening, first in a dry hydraulic press and then in a cylindric mangle for a smooth surface.
